Our world famous Talkeetna Winterfest, a full month of winter fun kicked off by the Bachelor Auction and Ball, is scheduled on the first weekend in December. This festival is famous for its Wilderness Woman Contest. Also held in December are numerous craft bazaars and holiday gatherings open to the public.

The summer events include "Moose on Parade", which kicks off in May presenting decorated "Moose on the Loose" all over Downtown Talkeetna and a few locations along the Talkeetna Spur Road. The event ends with the Moose Art parading on 4th of July followed by a fundraising auction". This event benefits three organizations: the Talkeetna Historical, the Talkeetna Artists Guild, and the Talkeetna Chamber of Commerce. Why not take a moose back home?
